Science of Mind

QUESTION: What does Science of Mind believe about Jesus?

ANSWER:

Science of Mind believes Jesus is “the great example, not the great exception.” He is not Lord and Savior; therefore, he did not die on the cross. He is a great teacher, however, whose teachings should be followed. Any world teacher who helps mankind be free from material, intellectual, emotional, or spiritual bondage is a spiritual “savior.” Jesus, the teacher, showed us a way to be released from spiritual ignorance and bondage.

Christ is viewed as a universal principle rather than a person. He was a human personality in which the Christ Principle or Divine Personality expressed itself on earth. The principle of Jesus Christ represents the mystical marriage of our inner spirit with our outer personality. This union produces an expression of life. Within each one of us lies the potential of this expression.

Science of Mind strongly believes in the divinity of all humanity -- not just Jesus’ divinity. He was God’s Son, but all people are also sons of God. God’s kingdom is revealed not only through Jesus, but also through man.

Science of mind also elaborates on what it means to “have the mind of Christ.” Christ’s mind is the consciousness (mind) in which He functioned. He dwelt ”in the Kingdom of God -- in the consciousness of being God.” Hence, the Kingdom of God is called a State of Mind -- the Christ mind! It is a state of knowing that the “I” within each of us is the Father. Each of us is the presence of God.

Since they believe each one of us is the Source manifested (i.e. God), Science of the Mind teaches that we begin to take upon ourselves the likeness of our Source, Christ. To function in that consciousness as the source is to function in the mind of Christ which ultimately is the Universal Mind (Divine Mind) personified.

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus

I still have questions
